Ski Touring and Snowshoeing

This retreat consists of ski touring or snowshoeing and mindfulness practices with monastics and lay Dharma Teachers or OI lay members.

You will have the option of snowshoeing through the quiet winter landscape or the option of ski touring.

  • No skills, other than the ability to walk, are required for snowshoeing. Equipment rental is included in the cost of the retreat. 
  • Ski touring is for advanced skiers who have experience in skinning and off-piste skiing. Ski touring is skiing in the backcountry on unmarked or unpatrolled areas. Touring is typically done off-piste and outside of ski resorts. It is similar to backcountry skiing but excludes the use of a ski lift or transport. (Wikipedia) Prior skiing (or snowboarding) experience is required. You must bring your own ski touring equipment:
    • Skis
    • Boots
    • Skins
    • Avalanche Transceiver
    • Shovel
  • Please inform us in advance if you need to rent equipment so that we can arrange it ahead of time

Fees

Ski-Touring or snowshoeing retreat is 875€ in total.

  • 600 advance registration
  • 275 cash upon arrival
  • 85cash for ski rental (optional)
  • 150cash for a double room (optional)
