Dive deeper into yourself

Plum Village’s Mountain Mindfulness Retreat in Andorra

Allow yourself to connect with the spirit and serenity of the majestic Pyrenees mountains during the Mountain Mindfulness retreat offered by Plum Village. Located in Andorra, the retreat will foster a space for you to incorporate the tenets of Buddhism and mindfulness into skiing, ski touring, or the more tranquil snowshoeing. Enjoy this opportunity to build sangha with the gentle guidance from the Plum Village monastics who will lead everyone in morning and evening meditations, dharma talks, and mindfulness contemplations

Week of March 14 to March 20, 2026:

  1. Skiing and Mindfulness: You will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional downhill skiing with facilitators. Prior ski (or snowboard) experience is required. Ski equipment rental is not included in the cost of the retreat.
  2. Ski Touring and Snowshoeing: You may choose to participate in either ski touring or snowshoeing. Ski touring offers a mindful way to explore nature beyond the marked ski runs, moving through off-piste alpine environments. For this reason, previous skiing or snowboarding experience is required. Participants should be able to descend all types of slopes confidently and with good control, and also be physically and mentally prepared to climb while maintaining full awareness of their surroundings. To take part in this activity, you must have your own ski touring equipment. If needed, we can arrange rental of the required gear, including touring skis, boots, climbing skins, an avalanche transceiver, and a shovel.

Accommodations include a clean and modern hostel that evokes a sense of community. Remember your bathing suit! The hostel’s stunning views and hot tub build a nurturing ambiance.

We are trying our best to approach every aspect of the retreat with mindfulness for Mother Earth. All meals, which are included in the cost, will be vegetarian or vegan. Please make sure to check any dietary restrictions upon registration. The food provisions are pre-planned by the restaurants to accommodate our group. We’d like to ensure that everyone’s dietary requirements are met. Participants are encouraged to carpool (See our Ridesharing Forum) or take the train and bus. Flying is not encouraged. However, if you must fly, we encourage you to take the opportunity to extend your stay by exploring nearby areas of France and Spain (and maybe even Plum Village!). No alcohol consumption is allowed during the retreat.  For more information, please make sure to check out our Practical Information Page and our FAQ Forum.
